My Journey From Teacher To Governess…

I know exactly how it feels to love teaching but feel drained by the school system. The long hours, endless paperwork, and lack of flexibility made me start looking for something new, something where I could still work with children but with more freedom, better pay, and less stress.
Becoming a governess changed everything. Instead of juggling 30 students, I worked one-to-one, creating personalised learning experiences tailored to the child’s needs. I no longer dealt with bureaucracy and unrealistic targets.
Instead, I got to focus on what I love – helping children thrive.
From Burnt-Out Teacher to Confident Governess
Making the transition from teaching to governessing wasn’t easy at first, I had to navigate the industry, figure out how to position myself for roles, and learn where to find job opportunities. But with time and experience, I made the switch, and it completely changed my career for the better.
